EMDR Intensives in Irvine, California
Focused Accelerated healing through EMDR Intensives
Does this Sound Familiar?
If you are feeling stuck or wanting to work through a specific issue, EMDR intensives, without the stop and start of weekly therapy, may be exactly what you are looking for
What is an EMDR Intensive?
An EMDR intensive, provided in and from Irvine, California, is a personalized, extended therapy experience that allows you to do deep, focused healing over the course of one or more days.
Rather than meeting weekly for 50-minute sessions, after an introductory session, we dedicate uninterrupted time, often 2–3 hours at a time (with 15-20 mins of break every 90 mins) to help you move through what’s been keeping you stuck.
The intensive format allows your mind and body to stay fully engaged in the process, gain clarity, process trauma, and experience relief more quickly.
What is included in an EMDR Intensive:
-
Initial Consult (20 mins)
Before committing to an intensive, we’ll start with a free 20-minute consultation to make sure this format is the right fit for your needs. During this call, we’ll briefly discuss what’s been bringing you to therapy, what you hope to work on, and any previous experience you’ve had with EMDR or trauma therapy. We’ll determine if an EMDR intensive is the most supportive next step for your healing process.
-
Assessment/Intake Session (90 mins)
We’ll explore your goals, current challenges, and history while introducing grounding and regulation tools to prepare your mind and body for the intensive.
You will be given a customized client workbook to fill out before your Intensive. We will ensure your system is ready for reprocessing. -
EMDR Intensive (3 hours)
We’ll spend dedicated time using EMDR therapy to work through distressing experiences or patterns that have been keeping you stuck. The session is divided into two 1.5-hour segments with a 20-minute break in between, giving your mind and body space to process deeply without getting overwhelmed or rushing.
-
Follow up session (50 mins)
A week or a few weeks later, we’ll meet to process insights, integrate changes, and discuss any next steps. An EMDR intensive can bring deep insight and relief. For some, additional sessions help strengthen and sustain the work.

Because we spend more concentrated time processing difficult memories and emotions during an intensive, it’s normal to feel emotionally tired, more sensitive, or drained for a day or two afterward. Some clients also notice increased dreams or reflections as their mind and body continue to integrate the work.
Throughout the intensive, I’ll check in with you regularly and make adjustments to ensure the pace feels safe, manageable, and grounded. You’ll also leave with tools and strategies to support continued regulation and care in the days following our work together.

At this time, I only offer intensives to California residents online and in-person in my Irvine office that is conveniently located near the freeway, restaurants, and various hotels.

A one-day EMDR intensive offers focused time to work through a specific issue, recent event, or trigger that’s been difficult to move past in weekly therapy. Clients often use this format to process a single traumatic memory, relationship stress, or performance-related anxiety. By the end of the day, you can expect to feel more regulated, clear, and grounded with practical tools to support ongoing healing.
-
A 2–3 day EMDR intensive provides the time and depth needed for complex PTSD, early attachment trauma, or long-standing emotional patterns that require more space and continuity to process. Over the course of several days, we work through multiple phases of EMDR—strengthening nervous system regulation, reprocessing traumatic memories, and integrating new perspectives that create lasting change.
Many clients describe intensives as “months of therapy in just a few days,” allowing them to experience deeper healing and relief in a shorter amount of time.

Both EMDR therapy and EMDR intensives use the same evidence-based approach to help you process and heal from difficult experiences. The difference is in the pacing and structure.
In weekly EMDR sessions, we move at a steady rhythm over time. In an intensive, we work in longer blocks. allowing for deeper focus and continuity that can create meaningful shifts in a shorter period. Some clients begin with weekly therapy and later choose an intensive, while others start with an intensive to make progress more quickly. -
Yes, some clients work with their primary therapist for ongoing support and come for an EMDR intensive to focus on one specific area. With your consent, I can coordinate care with your therapist to ensure continuity and support before and after the intensive
