1. Introduction:

(a) Web Site Owner: Tannaz Alagheband, LCSW (“Tannaz") is the owner of this web site, mindfultherapywithtannaz.com. Tannaz can be contacted by e-mail at tannazlcsw@gmail.com. This online privacy policy (“Policy”) discloses the Site’s information practices, including what type of personal identifiable information may be requested, how the information is used, and with whom the information is shared. Please note that other websites may be governed by privacy notices containing different information practices applicable to those sites.

 (b) Anonymous Web Site Visits. In general, you can visit on the Site without disclosing any personal information. The Site does keep track of the domains from which people visit us and analyzes the data gathered from the Site visits for trends and statistics, and then the Site discards the gathered data.

(c) Web Site Transactions. At times, the Site will need personal information regarding a user or client. For example to book an introductory call online, the Site may need to know a user or client's name, e-mail address, and phone number. It is the Site's intent to inform you before the Site collects personal information, such as user's name, e-mail, or phone number on the Internet. If you tell us that you do not wish to have this information used as a basis for further contact with you, the Site will respect your wishes, discard your personal information, and you will not be contacted.

2. Personal Information That May Be Collected:

(a) Identifying Information. In order to book an introductory call online, the Site will request that a user provide certain personal identifying information, which may include: your name, e-mail address, and telephone number (“Personal Information”).

When you access the Site through social media services or when you connect the Site to social media services, you are authorizing the Site to collect, store, and use such information and in accordance with this Policy.

(b) Information from Children. The Site are not directed or intended for children under eighteen (18) years of age. The Site does not knowingly collect Personal Information from individuals under eighteen (18) years of age. If you are under eighteen (18) years of age, you should not register or provide Personal Information on the Site or through the Services. If you are the parent or guardian of a child whom you believe has disclosed Personal Information to the Site, please contact Tannaz via e-mail so that Tannaz may delete and remove such child's information from the Site’s systems.

(c) Links to Other Web Sites. The Site may contain links to other web sites. Tannaz is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those other web sites. Tannaz does not monitor, control, or endorse the information collection or privacy practices of any third parties. Tannaz encourages you to become familiar with the privacy practices of every website you visit and to contact them if you have any questions about their respective privacy policies and practices. This Policy applies solely to information collected by through the Site and does not apply to these third-party websites. The ability to access information of third parties from the Site, or links to other websites or locations, is for your convenience only and does not signify Tannaz’s endorsement of such third parties, their products, services, websites, locations or their content.

(d) Non-Identifiable Information. As you use the Site, certain non-identifiable information may also be passively collected. Through cookies, pixels, and beacons for the purposes of Site analytics, log files, and other technologies, the Site may collect information about how you use the Site. This information allows the Site to deliver more helpful information, programs, and tools. 

3. Uses Made of the Information:

(a) Limited Uses Identified. Without client's prior consent, the Site will not use your personal identifiable information for any purpose other than that for which it is submitted. Tannaz uses personal identifiable information for, but not limited to, the following purposes:

  • Respond to inquiries or requests in connection with the Site;

  • Fulfill your requests for services;

  • Handle complaints;

  • Send communications and administrative/operational emails about the Site;

  • Personalize and better tailor the features, performance, and support of the Site for your use;

  • Send you Site-related communications, including any notices required by law, in lieu of communication by postal mail. You may not opt out of Site-related e-mails;

  • Send you newsletters and other messages, including changes to features of the Site and special offers that you may opt out of by clicking "unsubscribe" in the email. Opting out may prevent you from receiving email messages regarding updates or improvements;

  • Improve the quality of the Site and analyze, benchmark, and conduct research on user data and user interactions with the Site.

(b)  Stored Information Uses. The Site stores the information provided by a user or client entered on the Site. This information is used by the Site to support user or client interaction with the Site and to book initial appointments.

4. Disclosure of the Information:

(a) Agents. The Site employs or engages third-party companies and individuals to perform business functions on behalf of the Site. These companies and individuals are provided with personal identifying information required to perform their functions, but are prohibited by contract from using the information for other purposes. These persons engage in a variety of functions which include, but are not limited to, Site maintenance, Site administration, and the handling of user data entered into online forms on the Site. Access to your Personal Information by these service providers is limited to the information reasonably necessary to perform its limited function.

Please note, if you link to third party websites, please be sure to read the privacy policies of such websites and/or platforms. Tannaz is not responsible for information you share to third parties on third party websites and/or platforms.

We may store Personal Information in locations outside the direct control of Tannaz (for instance, on servers or databases co-located with hosting providers).

(b) Marketing and Usage Analysis by Third Parties. The Site reserves the right to disclose to third parties aggregate data, that does not describe or identify an individual user or client, for Site usage patterns and analytics.

(c) Disclosure to Governmental Authorities. The Site may disclose and release your Personal Information provided to the Site to government representatives: (a) to comply with valid legal requirements such as a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order; or (b) in special cases, such as a physical threat to you or others or in any cases in which Tannaz believes it is reasonably necessary to investigate or prevent harm or illegal conduct.

5. Use of Computer Tracking Technologies:

(a)  No Tracking of Personal Information. The Site is not set up to track, collect, or share Personal Information not entered by visitors. Through Site access logs, the Site does collect clickstream data and HTTP protocol elements, which generate certain kinds of non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of hits and visits to our sites. This information is used for internal purposes for research and development, user analysis, and business decision making. The statistics garnered contain no Personal Information and cannot be used to gather such information.

(b) “DO NOT TRACK” browser signals. Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a “Do Not Track” signal from your browser.

(c) Use of Cookies. The Site, or its third party vendors administering the Site, collects non-identifiable and Personal Information through the use of various technologies, including "cookies". A cookie is an alphanumeric identifier that a Web site can transfer to client's hard drive through client's browser. The cookie is then stored on client's computer as an anonymous tag that identifies the client's computer, but not the client. Cookies may be sent by the Site or its third party vendors. Cookies can be removed by following your Internet browser's directions within the browser’s help or settings tab. A user of the Site can set its browser to notify the User before a cookie is received, giving an opportunity to decide whether to accept the cookie. The uswer may also set its browser to turn off cookies; however, some websites may not then work properly.

(d) Use of Web Beacon Technologies. The Site may also use Web beacon or other technologies to better tailor the Site to provide a better user experience. If these technologies are in use, when a user accesses these pages of the Site, a non-identifiable notice of that visit is generated which may be processed by the Site. Web beacons usually work in conjunction with cookies. If the Site user does not want cookie information to be associated with the user’s visits to these pages, the user can set its browser to turn off cookies; however, Web beacon and other technologies will still detect visits to these pages, but the notices they generate cannot be associated with other non-identifiable cookie information and are disregarded.

(e) Collection of Non-Identifiable Information. The Site may collect non-identifiable information from user visits to the Site in order to provide better Site services. Examples of such collecting include: traffic analysis, such as tracking of the domains from which users visit, or tracking numbers of visitors; measuring visitor activity on Site; Site administration; and user analysis. Such information is sometimes known as "clickstream data." The Site may use this data to analyze trends and statistics.

(f) Collection of Personal Information. The Site collects personal identifying information from a user during a user’s request utilizing the Site. The Site may extract some personally identifying information about that request in a non-identifiable format and combine it with other non-identifiable information, such as clickstream data. This information is used and analyzed only at an aggregate level (not at an individual level) to help the Site understand trends and patterns. This information is not reviewed at an individual level.

6. Information Security and Deletion.

(a) Commitment to Online Security. The Site employs physical, electronic, and professional procedures to safeguard the security and integrity of Personal Information. Personal information is accessible only by Tannaz. All the Site’s agents and contractors with access to said Personal Information on the Site are also bound to adhere to the Site’s security standards.

(b) No Liability for Acts of Third parties. Tannaz exercises all reasonable efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of client Personal Information. However, transmissions protected by industry standard security technology and implemented by human beings cannot be made absolutely secure. Consequently, the Site does not warrant the security of its servers, nor does the Site warrant that your information, including Personal Information, will be completely secure or not be intercepted while being transmitted over the Internet. Tannaz shall not be liable for unauthorized disclosure of Personal Information due to no fault of Tannaz or the Site including, but not limited to, errors in transmission and unauthorized acts of Tannaz.

In addition, Tannaz is not responsible for the privacy or data security practices of other organizations, such as Meta, Apple, Google, Microsoft, X, or any other app developer, app provider, social media platform provider, operating system provider, wireless service provider, or device manufacturer, including in connection with any information you disclose to other organizations through or in connection with the Services.

7. Privacy Policy Changes and Opt-Out Rights:

(a) Changes to Privacy Policy. Tannaz reserves the right to change or update this privacy policy statement at any time. A notice of any material change will be posted on the Site for thirty (30) days prior to the implementation of such change.

(b) Opt-Out Right. Tannaz does not sell your Personal Information. However, as a California resident, you have the right to opt-out of any sharing of your Personal Information the Site collects about you. If you choose to opt out, please contact us via e-mail.

8. Access Rights to Data:

(a) Information Maintained by the Site. Upon client's request, Tannaz will provide a reasonable description of a user or client's personally identifiable information that Tannaz maintains in its data bank. Tannaz can be contacted by e-mail.

(b) Deletion of Your Personal Information. You have the right to request that Tannaz delete Personal Information collected by the Site. Upon receipt of such request, Tannaz will delete your Personal Information collected as of the date of such request, except when necessary to: (i) detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity and prosecute those responsible; (ii) debug to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality; (iii) exercise free speech (of business or another consumer) or other rights; (iv) comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act; (v) comply with a legal obligation; or (vi) use your Personal Information, internally, in a lawful manner that is compatible with the context in which the consumer provided the information.

Please note that if Tannaz deletes your Personal Information, you may not be able to use certain Site functions that require your Personal Information.

(c) Your California Privacy Rights. Beginning on January 1, 2005, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits users of Site who are California residents to request certain information regarding Tannaz’s disclosure of Personal Information for their direct marketing purposes. Neither the Site nor Tannaz share user or client’s personal information for direct marketing purposes, but will honor such requests. To make such a request, please send a request to e-mail. Within thirty (30) days of receiving such a request, Tannaz will provide a list of the categories of Personal Information disclosed to third parties for third-party direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year, along with the names and addresses of these third parties. This request may be made no more than once per calendar year. Tannaz reserves its right not to respond to requests submitted other than to the address specified in this paragraph.

 California’s privacy laws require a company to provide notice to California users of their rights to receive information on to which entities their information was shared for marketing purposes.
